Celebration for one more Anniversary of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
UANL celebrated 89 years of training professionals of excellence from the northeast of Mexico
On the morning of Friday, September 23, 2022, in the Esplanade of the Rectory Tower of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, the celebrations for the 89th Anniversary of our Maximum House of Studies were held, where the university community met as students, professors and workers from the different dependencies of the UANL, including the School of Medicine.
The event was headed by the following university authorities:
- Santos Guzmán López, DM; Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
- Benjamín Limón Rodríguez, EngD; President of the Honorable Governing Board of the UANL
- Rafael Garza Ibarra, BSc; General Secretary of the Labor Union of the UANL
- Juan Paura García, DBA; General Secretary of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
- Jaime Arturo Castillo Elizondo, DEd; Academic Secretary of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
“This Maximum House of Studies of Nuevo León officially began its work when the Schools joined to the first Chairs of Jurisprudence, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Obstetrics, the Normal School and the Technical Baccalaureates that in 1933 met to institutionalize the professional training of the young people of the northeast of the country that over the years have formed the great workforce that is distinguished by its effort, culture and permanent progress […] Currently our enrollment amounts to more than 215,000 students in the four educational levels: Medium Superior Level, Bachelor's Degree, Postgraduate and the University for Seniors” mentioned Santos Guzmán López, DM; through an emotional message.

The celebration event was set by different regional dance and music groups, in addition to the different cheers such as the one organized by La Peste Blanca, group of identity and animation of our School of Medicine, together with students, representatives of the Student Society and professors, accompanied by Rodrigo Enrique Elizondo Omaña, DSc; Vice-Principal of Undergraduate Studies of the Bachelor of Medical Surgeon-Obstetrician, as well as of Guillermo Jacobo Baca, DM; Secretary of Student-Affairs of the School of Medicine.
