Graduate profile Professionals

The graduate student of the Bachelor's Program in Clinical Chemistry Biologist is a professional in the area of Health Sciences who has a solid scientific, technical and humanistic preparation, socially responsible and globally competent; able to apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes to work individually, collaboratively and interdisciplinarily in the solution of health problems. Implements, develops and validates clinical and chemical analysis methods in various biological, environmental and food matrixes.

Knows the clinical laboratory indicators that differentiate health and disease conditions and can interpret results that support diagnosis or decision making. Likewise, they carry out quality management activities in laboratories, within the legal framework, with profound respect for the environment. In addition, he/she is competent to apply the scientific method with skill and dexterity, and in this way to support the generation of knowledge and the resolution of problems in his professional field, providing advice, training courses and conferences.

It also contributes to the promotion of a responsible and sustainable society in accordance with the values promoted by the UANL through its integration into public or private institutions or as an entrepreneur. In order to achieve this graduation profile, the general and specific competencies to be developed, as well as the labor field, are defined in the present educational program.

Specific Competencies

  1. Solve problems by applying knowledge of the chemical composition of the material as well as its physicochemical properties to determine analysis in biological, environmental and food matrices.
  4. Validate bioanalytical methods under established performance criteria that allow reliability of the results obtained in the chemical-biological samples
  5. Incorporate new analytical methodology that contributes to the functional, economic and/or environmental improvement of laboratory processes to respond to needs in health areas.
  6. Interpret the results of analysis based on established criteria that allow timely and relevant decisions to be taken in the clinical, toxicological, chemical, food, forensic and environmental diagnosis.
  7. Guarantee the reliability of the analytical results obtained by applying quality control guidelines as established by the laboratory policies for the correct decision making.
  8. Ensure the necessary resources by applying quality management systems for the proper functioning and continuous improvement of laboratories.
