Inauguration of the screw caps container at the School
The collection of the caps will promote recycling in the community, as well as the donation to the Alianza Anticancer Infantil
It was at noon on Thursday, August 26, 2021 when the unveiling of the inaugural plaque of Tapas with Cause, a container for screw caps that will facilitate their collection and donation to the association that supports low-income cancer patients. At the same time, this action will promote recycling with a cause among the entire community of the Faculty of Medicine.
Presiding over the event, Rodrigo Enrique Elizondo Omaña, DSc; Subdirector de Estudios de Pregrado de la Licenciatura de Médico Cirujano y Partero, indicó que el contenedor se suma a la lista de grandes acciones de responsabilidad social y sustentable con las que cuenta nuestra Institución, mismas que reflejan la solidaridad con la población y la sensibilización hacia el medio ambiente aún en tiempos de pandemia.

“Last Rotary year they added Support for the Environment to Rotary International's areas of interest, so we wanted to start looking for projects that related to this and, at the same time, collaborate with other SEASE groups […] This is a a permanent project that will be continuously renovated to benefit the Alianza Anticancer” explained the student Gloria, who also said she was surprised that the container, a month after its installation, was almost at 50% of its capacity.
"Medico Integrales' role in this project was to help find a sponsor for the screw cap container. Initially, the idea was to carry out fundraising activities to acquire it. However, we were fortunate that the CALDES marketer provided us with the collector for free," he said. . Montserrat also added that they have seen the participation of the student community and professors of the Faculty, she hopes that this will be the beginning of more activities of this type.
“I think it is very important, as students, that we become aware and help spread the importance of recycling […] Our goal is that by filling the container, the same caps can be donated to charitable foundations and have a benefit for children. that are in anticancer treatments” mentioned the student Lizbeth.
