On the morning of this Thursday, December 15, 2022, in a colossal ceremony, the distinguished gynecologist and oncologist: Oscar Vidal Gutiérrez, DM; protested the title granted by our community as Principal of the School of Medicine and University Hospital "Dr. José Eleuterio González", in the Polyvalent Auditorium of our Institution in front of students, professors, administrative staff, university authorities, public and jurisdictional function servers, special guests and family members. The following persons that accompanied the solemn act stand out:

• Santos Guzmán López, DM; Rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
• Benjamín Limón Rodríguez, EngD; President of the Honorable Governing Board of the UANL
• Javier Luis Navarro Velasco, LLB; General Secretary of Government of the State of Nuevo León

At the event, Edelmiro Pérez Rodríguez, DM; had the opportunity to thank those present for the work they carried out together during his term as Principal, which lasted from 2016 to 2022. In addition, he wished to Dr. Vidal every success, reaffirming his commitment to continue working favor of the School of Medicine and the University Hospital.

For his part, Oscar Vidal Gutiérrez, DM; who will serve as our Principal in the period 2022-2025, indicated the following: "I am aware of what the appointment I receive today means, what it is worth as an honor and the responsibility it entails [...] Our strategic plan covers five fundamentals axes: excellent education, responsibility and a healthy lifestyle, research and technological innovation, sustainability and infrastructure, responsible management and administration".
