Oscar Vidal Gutiérrez, MD.

Oscar Vidal was born in Mexico City in the year 1960. He completed his Bachelor of Medical Surgeon-Obstetrician degree from the School of Medicine of the UANL. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospital “Dr. José Eleuterio González” from the UANL and later in Gynecological Oncology at the National Institute of Cancerology (INCan), thus becoming the first doctor in Nuevo León with this specialty. He also has a doctorate degree in Medicine.

He continued his education by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Law and a Master's Degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods from the Faculty of Law and Criminology at UANL. Additionally, he has been serving as a professor for undergraduate and graduate programs at the School of Medicine and University Hospital of the UANL since 1992. He previously oversaw the Gynecology Department and is now responsible for the Oncology Department. He also served as Technical Secretary of the Directorate of the School of Medicine and University Hospital of the UANL.

Oscar Vidal was a member of the Legislative Commission and State Medical Arbitration Commission of Nuevo León. Currently, he is the head of the Academic Body of the Oncology Department, which is in the consolidation process. He has been recognized with the PRODEP Profile and re-certified by the Mexican Council of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Additionally, he has participated in several specialty, master's, and doctoral theses, as well as multiple research projects.

Vidal is a remarkable individual with many achievements to his name. He was the first to perform ovarian auto-transplantation to the forearm with vascular anastomosis. Currently, he is responsible for coordinating the area of oncology research protocols with pharmaceutical companies. Dr. med. Oscar Vidal was appointed National Researcher of the SNI level 1, granted by CONACYT, and holds two patents in the industry. Despite his accomplishments, he remains humble and unpretentious, with a kind disposition and a great love for teaching.
