Born in San Francisco de Apodaca, Nuevo Le\u00f3n, on August 11, 1870. In said municipality he carried out his first studies and then enrolled in the Civil College of the city of Monterrey, in 1883. In 1889 he entered the Monterrey School of Medicine , where it is titled December 5, 1895.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Since 1893, as a student, he has worked at the Colegio Civil as a professor of Natural History. In 1915, for political reasons, he found it necessary to take refuge in the US state of Texas, where he completed a postgraduate degree in Pediatrics. Upon his return, he took charge of the Chair of Pathology and Children's Clinic at the Monterrey School of Medicine. He was a great promoter of this specialty, in this regard he pointed out: \u201cSpecialists must be trained for the medical care of children. Unfortunately in our country, this specialty has been neglected. Those who dedicate themselves to this line of Medicine, it is necessary that they realize that for each child they save from the clutches of death, it is a beautiful hope for the Homeland, which will gradually become the most beautiful of realities. .\u201d (El Porvenir, November 22, 1943, p.16).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He was director of this Institution in various stages: the first was from July 1918 to 1919, succeeding Dr. Juan de Dios Trevi\u00f1o. From 1921 to 1924 he was director of the Jos\u00e9 Eleuterio Gonz\u00e1lez Civil Hospital. He attended the National Congress of Medicine in Saltillo, Coahuila, in 1922, and the IV National Congress of Pediatrics in Mexico City as a speaker.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He assumes the direction again in 1924, before the imminence of its closure due to lack of resources, which he was able to avoid; He left office in October 1925. Two years later he organized the VII National Medical Congress, based in Monterrey in 1927.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

His last administration was from 1934 to 1938. He was the forerunner of the Hospital-School project and the Social Service for Medicine interns.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He practiced as a private doctor consulting at the Guerrero Pharmacy, which was located on the street of the same name, from 1911 until his death in 1939. This according to the records of the Health Council, of which he was a member.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In addition to his extensive written participation in medical events and scientific journals, Dr. Guajardo writes "Advice to Mothers of Families", an educational brochure that deals in detail with various problems of infant feeding.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He died in Monterrey, on April 7, 1939, at the age of 68.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
