In 1988, being director the Dr. Alfredo Pi\u00f1eyro L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, the Faculty initiated the program History of Medicine in Nuevo Le\u00f3n,<\/em> under the coordination of Profr. Celso Garza Guajardo<\/strong>. The objectives of the program were the search of bibliography and publications on the subject, as well as testimonies and documents of the recent past of the Faculty and the University Hospital; in addition to the collection of old medical instruments, within the Hospital itself and in other instances, and a thorough search for photographic material and images.<\/p>\n

In 1992, the building that would protect the Library of the Faculty of Medicine was inaugurated, assigning a space to the Historic Hall, said Hall was inaugurated on October 19, 1993.<\/p>\n

The Historical Hall began by protecting the Documentary and Photographic Historical Archive, and the oldest section of the books of the Faculty of Medicine's library, as well as exhibiting a selection of photographs and old medical instruments.<\/p>\n

In 2002, thanks to the donation made by the Dr. \u00c1ngel \u00d3scar Ulloa Gregori<\/strong>, from its personal collection of old medical instruments, the Historic Hall was reopened, with the name of the \u201cDr. \u00c1ngel \u00d3scar Ulloa Gregori \u201d, in gratitude for his great contribution. In this way, the museum collection was increased to about a thousand pieces, including medical-surgical kits, devices and instruments, giving the collection its own stamp and being today the only medicine bone in the whole north of the country.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ulloa donated a significant amount of surgical instruments and old medical books.<\/p><\/div>\n

Over the years, the museum has served as the protector and diffuser of the historical memory of the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital, on the one hand, receiving university visitors and the general public, national and foreign; in turn participating and organizing publications and events of a cultural, archival and historical nature.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
