MEDCAMP first edition concludes

With a total of 40 participants, the first week of MEDCAMP classes, tours and workshops was held

On June 28, 29 and 30, as well as July 1 and 2, the first edition of MEDCAMP, where the participants were offered different workshops and classes instructed by some Basic Departments of our faculty. This project is a camp carried out by the Faculty of Medicine that aims to provide the experience of being a medical student for a week to high school students who want or are about to enter the career of Surgeon and Midwife.

Present at the opening ceremony of the MEDCAMP week were the Rodrigo Enrique Elizondo Omaña, DSc; Subdirector de Estudios de Pregrado de la Licenciatura de Médico Cirujano y Partero y el Guillermo Jacobo Baca, DM; Secretario de Asuntos Estudiantiles de la Facultad de Medicina, quienes invitaron a los participantes a conocer un poco de la Facultad de Medicina, aprovechar la oportunidad entender lo que se lleva los primeros años de la carrera de medicina y ver que la mejor opción de estudio se encuentra en la Facultad de Medicina. Así mismo, el Dr. Francisco Abdeel Santos Coronado; felicitó a los presentes por atreverse a ser parte de la primera edición del proyecto.

In addition to the classes and workshops, during the 5 days of the camp, the participants also had tours of the main facilities of the Faculty of Medicine and two of the museums located in the CRIDS and in the Department of Embryology:

  • Human Anatomy class and workshop
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Workshop
  • Suture Workshop
  • Physiology Workshop
  • Bandage Workshop
  • Embryology Class and Museum
  • Tour of the Museum Room
  • Tour of the Faculty of Medicine
  • Human Anatomy

To close the activities, this Friday at 11:00 a.m., a small concert was held by the musical group Mediglee in Auditorium 1, and a memory photograph was taken of the first generation of MEDCAMP in Plaza Gonzalitos.
