Medical Cartoon Contest Award

Doctors, especially surgeons, have been the subject of jokes and caricatures. Museum Room took this concept for the contest

Patients' feelings about their doctor are ambivalent, on the one hand, they denote respect and gratitude and, on the other, disappointment and fear. The cartoon, through the laughter it provokes, tends to neutralize those feelings.

On the afternoon of November 1, as part of the events of the inauguration of the Altar of the Dead, in the frontispiece of our Faculty, the award of the Medical Caricature contest was held, convened by the Museum Room "Ángel Óscar Ulloa Gregori" on the occasion of its 25th. Anniversary, with the support of the Secretariat of Student Affairs.

First place went to Eduardo Enrique López Hernández, with his cartoon "#Antivacuna"; the second for Cristina Méndez Ortiz with “A lost bullet” and the third for Omar Luis Humberto Carrillo Ramírez with “Oeleache vida”.

The jury was made up of plastic artists Beto Frías and Luis Mata, cultural promoter Daniel Osuna and writer and photographer Eric Lara.

The cartoons will be displayed at the entrance of the Museum Room.
