Symphonic Folklor in the School of Medicine

As part of the Festival Alfonsino 2019, a show that includes orchestra, choir and artistic expression of dance was presented in our institution

As part of the cultural tour Live art in your school! of the Alfonsino Festival 2019 carried out by the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, the Symphonic Folklore represented by the Katros Dance Group and by the Esperanza Azteca Orchestra and Choir was presented on May 22, on a pleasant afternoon at the frontispiece of our Faculty of Medicine.

The authorities who attended the event were:

  • Edelmiro Pérez Rodríguez, DM; Principal of the School of Medicine and University Hospital "Dr. José Eleuterio González"
  • Lizbet García Rodríguez, BSc; Principal of Cultural Development of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León
  • Rodrigo Enrique Elizondo Omaña, DSc; Vice-Principal of Undergraduate Studies of the Bachelor of Medical Surgeon-Obstetrician
  • Oscar Vidal Gutiérrez, DM; Technical Secretary of the University Hospital “Dr. José Eleuterio González”
  • Dr. Guillermo Jacobo Baca; Secretary of Student-Affairs of the School of Medicine
  • Guillermo Elizondo Riojas, DSc; Academic Secretary of the Bachelor of Medical Surgeon-Obstetrician

In addition to deputy directors, secretaries, coordinators, heads of service, students, teachers, workers and parents.

"This is an activity that the University carries out each year as a central cultural activity and, this time, in homage to Alfonso Reyes, a universal Monterrey native, whose 130th birthday we celebrate," explained Lic. Lizbet García Rodríguez, who also mentioned that said event helps the training of UANL students and thanked having the open doors of the Faculty of Medicine to host the 2019 Alfonsino Festival.

The Edelmiro Pérez Rodríguez, DM; señaló que en la Facultad de Medicina se ha tratado de empujar más el arte, además de recalcar que el evento era motivacional tanto para los integrantes del Grupo de Danza Katros y de la Orquesta y Coro Esperanza Azteca como para los universitarios.

The Symphonic Folklore presented a great variety of typical regional and country dances, as well as songs that delighted the ears of the attendees. At the end of the event, the cultural groups were recognized by the authorities of our faculty.
