The Research and Innovation in Medical Virology Center is a space highly specialized in the study of contemporary viral pathogens and their impact on the population.

The place has state-of-the-art biotechnological resources to generate scientific and technological knowledge in Molecular Virology; Even during 2021, genomic sequencing studies of SARS-CoV-2 were carried out, managing to identify the variants in Nuevo León.

At the moment, 6 scientific articles related to COVID-19, Influenza and Hepatitis C virus have been published at the CIIViM.

The commitment of each and every brigade member of our Institution has made it possible to advance in the National Vaccination Strategy against COVID-19.

In coordination with the Healthc Secretary and the State Delegation of Programs for Development, the facilities of the School of Medicine and the University Hospital were added as massive inoculation points for the metropolis.

During 2021 alone, nearly 2 million doses were applied with the support of 22,000 brigade members -students and health personnel- at 149 vaccination points in Nuevo León.

The Embryology Museum is an area of use for the learning and scientific development of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

This space houses a Morphology Laboratory where, through practice and research studies, the material for museography is prepared.

Since its inauguration, it has received exchange students from countries such as Russia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Tunisia, to carry out dissections and microdissections in material related to museum functions.

The High Specialty in Advanced Medicine building - HSAM is a cutting-edge model, which houses a total of 13 floors to provide quality service for patients in the State and north of the country.

In 2020, the High Specialty in Advanced Medicine building had a 5-floors conversion for the care of patients with COVID-19.

In 2021 alone, it treated more than 10,505 outpatients and 432 inpatients, and the Infectology Laboratory was adapted for the effective processing of diagnostic tests, showing a commitment to serving society in the State.

Redesigned and remodeled in 2019 to enrich the development of skills, abilities and application of anatomical knowledge, for the future practice of medicine.

In addition to the main rooms, the space is made up of a Microsurgery Laboratory and an Anatomy Research Laboratory, contributing to the training of more than 3,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
